Mikado was originally bred by the Federation seed company. Mikado is a heavily Indica dominant hybrid (90% indica/10% sativa) strain with unknown genetics due to breeder secrecy named for the ancient term for Japanese royalty. Hazeman seeds wanted to preserve one more good old strain and have everyone enjoy it. Mikado is predominantly Indica, quick maturing, large-yielding strain, with a long jagged single leaf pattern. Mikado can be harvested 45 days after flowering has started. Perfect for a sea of green.

Grew this strain about 20 years ago (got clones from a friend who got seeds from Federation) and old customers of mine still swear it’s the best weed they’ve ever smoked. I tend to not disagree. When I decided to get back into growing recently, and I saw Mikado seeds available from Hazeman, I knew my first crop had to have some Mikado. 12/12 seeds germinated (cheers to Hazeman!). 7/12 were female. 4/7 made it through to harvest in great shape and the weed was as good as I remember. Total yield (in a 4×4 under a 600w LED) was 328 grams off of these 4 plants. 3 of the females had health issues that affected the quantity and quality of the bud. Still highly smokable but not the Mikado I know and love from my youth. Overall, seriously happy with the purchase. It came with some free RMH seeds that I can’t wait to try. Will buy again from Hazeman.
