This particular line of genetics has been an incredibly fascinating exploration for Strayfox. The breeder considers it a missing puzzle piece they’ve been hunting for over eight years within their skunk breeding program.

The Parents:

• Bag Seed Line: These seeds originated from an old army ammo tin stashed away since the 1970s. an older gentleman who served as an officer stationed in Korea discovered his love for cannabis during hippie sessions despite his desk job. When the Vietnam War ended, he brought back a couple of film containers filled with seeds, which he hid in his military gear and stored in an old warehouse. According to the information available, he never cultivated cannabis himself.
• More than 50 years later, the gentleman passed away, and his family began cleaning out the warehouse. They almost threw away the film containers, but a longtime friend of the family knew Strayfox and contacted them about the “old ass seeds.” Initially unsure of their viability, the friend offered them to Strayfox, who was surprised to receive the entire container brimming with seeds.

A Treasure Trove of Genetics:

The container held a diverse collection of strains collected during the individual’s time in the Netherlands and Korea. While over half the seeds were inviable, the remaining light brown to dark seeds offered a 30% germination rate, which was sufficient for Strayfox’s purposes.

Phenotype Exploration:

Running through 25 seeds so far, Strayfox encountered a range of phenotypes, including:

• Short, broad-leaf Indicas
• Tall, narrow-leaf Thais
• Happy Hazes
• Mexicans
• Columbians
• Landrace-looking heirloom Sativas

A Standout Female:

Among these, a particularly impressive female emerged. This Thai-leaning plant stood out for its pungent frost and an intense, almost scary, effect with a zippy rush. The initial aroma of sticky, strong burnt rubber, coffee, and skunk faded significantly after drying.

The Male Counterpart:

The male breeding partner came from old 81 Afghani seeds gifted by a friend (Heime) and sourced from Albion Mendocino. This short and squat Indica line possessed a pungent dead animal roadkill aroma that, unfortunately, diminished after hanging. Despite the aroma fading, the smoke remained thick, and the line offered a classic old-school warm body high with a very chill and happy uplifting effect.
