Red River Haze F1 (M48 F4 x Blue Oaxaca/Blueberry F3 Bx2) 10 Regular Seeds

Deep Ellum Seed Co. chose a short and manageable female of Super Sativa Seed Club’s M48 (original Haze x South African), sourced from AK Beans, that finished around 16 weeks. This female was then paired with their favorite Blueberry-Oaxaca male from Dallas.

AK Beans is noted for its excellent work in taking the original release of SSSC M48 to F4. Deep Ellum Seed Co. also dedicated effort to refining the Blueberry-Oaxaca male used in this pairing. Their work with this line began around 2016 with a pack of Hell Fire Seeds’ (Sagarmatha BlueBerry x Blue Oaxaca) F1 from 2002. They inbred to F3, backcrossed twice to the keeper female from the F1 pack, and conducted a limited release in 2021.

The sweet, honeysuckle-scented M48 is described as having a wild woody incense and licorice flavor, along with a crisp, clean effect. Deep Ellum Seed Co. experimented with several pairings, and the cross that exhibited the best performance and flavor was with the earthy, berry, and hashy Blueberry-Oaxaca. As the cross was made in Oklahoma, they chose to name it after the river that serves as the boundary with Texas.

The resulting Red River Hazes exhibit the wider leaves and the stretch of the Blueberry-Oaxaca, along with increased resin production compared to the M48. The M48 contributes even more exotic sativa characteristics, resulting in unique terpenes and a more electrifying effect than either parent on its own.

While a 65-day phenotype might be found, Deep Ellum Seed Co. indicates that most of these will finish in approximately 14-15 weeks and advises that this strain is not recommended for beginners.
