I received my beans promptly no problems there. I did notice that the majority of them had three sides. I started looking into it on the internet cause I recently read in a review in another bank that some dude said three sided beans are guaranteed to be hermaphrodite! I’ve also read that triploid genetics have three sides. Not sure as I have no experience with triploid genetics. Not sure how to assess this situation knowing what I now know.

That’s a very understandable concern, and thank you for bringing it up so quickly! We want to clear up any confusion right away.

The shape you are observing on the majority of the seeds (sometimes described as having three sides) is actually a natural characteristic of healthy, open-pollinated, and regular seeds.

While seeds from triploid plants (which have three sets of chromosomes) can sometimes exhibit unusual shapes, the seeds we sell are from standard diploid breeding lines. The shape you’re seeing is simply how the seed developed inside the tight bract.

Please go ahead and pop those seeds with confidence! We’re here to support you through the grow, and we’re looking forward to seeing your results.
