When Washington, D.C. legalized home grow, Jackson Farmer, saw an opportunity to fill a gap in the market for growers of all sizes.

Farmer, who had just finished earning a Bachelors and Masters in Biology from American University, understood the value that lab testing offered growers of all plants. This is especially true for those limited to a certain number of plants at a time, a limitation made worse by surprise male plants that can eat into harvest yields and result in lower quality, seeded buds.

Because D.C. only legalized home grow—and did not create a system for regulated commercial sales—home cultivation became a necessity, and growers needed a lab.

Jackson realized the problems growers faced with plant sex identification and created a DNA test that could be mailed in from anywhere in the world. Growers could then use this to determine the sex of cannabis plants early, saving them from the hassle of caring for male plants that would need to be removed later.

Farmer Freeman actively supports the legalization of home grow, the decriminalization of cannabis, and the safe return of individuals impacted by the war on drugs.
